13 November 2015 – As 2015 draws to an end, Reach For A Dream (RFAD) welcomed all their donors to the Southern Sun, Hyde Park, for breakfast on Friday, 13 November to thank them for their support during the year.
Addressing the room, Mervyn Serebro, RFAD’s chairperson, who has been involved with the organisation for 18 years, said he is constantly moved by the dreamers’ smiles, their joy and invigoration when their dreams are fulfilled. The broad smiles, uncontrollable laughter and pure excitement Serebro spoke of was depicted during a touching video clip that was played at the breakfast.
This year 13 795 dreams were fulfilled, including five international dreams. These numbers are true testament to the passion and affiliation the donors and RFAD team have for the foundation; which has been inspiring hope and fulfilling dreams for 27 years.
Yoyo, a dreamer and survivor of Hodgkins cancer, shared her story with those in attendance, including RFAD CEO Julia Sotirianakos and vice chairperson Peter Moyanga. The songs Yoyo sang were born from her life experiences, with one even titled Reach for a Dream.
Newsclip has been a proud sponsor of the Reach For A Dream Foundation for many years, assisting with their media monitoring on a pro bono basis.
